Happy Chaitra Navratri Days
Chaitra Navratri is a nine day festival to seek the blessings of Goddess Durga in its 3 forms- the first three days as Goddess Durga, the Goddess of Energy to be freed from negativities and impurities, the next 3 days as Goddess Laksmi, the Goddess of Wealth bestowing its blessings in the form of wealth and joy, and the last 3 days as Goddess Saraswati, the Goddess of Wisdom to improve spiritual knowledge. These 9 days are a triple opportunity to attain the blessings of the Goddess in the form of Energy, Wealth and Wisdom.
In Sanskrit, 'Nav' means 'nine' and 'Ratri' means 'night'. This nine day celebration begins from 'Pratipada', the first day and ends at 'Navami', the ninth day of Shukla Paksha, during 'Chaitra', the Hindu month.
Praying and devotional services, that improve spiritual and mental health and fasting, which purifies the body physically are the major aspects in the first seven days. Fasting improves the energy of the body to fight with diseases and prepares for the summer season ahead.

On the eighth and ninth day, Yagnas are performed in order to pay respect and bid farewell to the Goddess. Another major part of Chaitra Navratri is 'Kanya Puja', in which nine young girls, who have not reached their puberty stage, are worshipped at the ninth day and they represent the nine forms of the Goddess. The ninth day is also celebrated as Ram Navami, the birthday of Lord Rama, the seventh Avatar of Lord Vishnu.
Navratri is very auspicious to begin new ventures, as it is considered as the first month of the Hindu calendar. According to the ancient sages, it is the time to pay obeisance to the divine powers which are responsible to provide energy to the earth for moving around the sun and maintain the nature's balance.
In the months of March-April of Chaitra Navratris, Mother Nature maintains a balance between the solar influences and the climatic changes and the duration of the days and nights is almost the same. It is indeed the best time to worship Goddess Durga- the balanced form of energy and get her blessings.
